In Sydney, Newson attended Sydney College of the Arts and studied jewelry and sculpture. In a TEDxSydney from 2013, Newson talks about how he studied art because he needed to go away college understanding tips on how to make one thing. He said jewellery was the least esoteric and was one of the reasons why he selected to study it. I found this bit of knowledge fascinating as a result of if you look at his work and examine how he runs a tightknit company, you could see how he enjoys being hands on and repeatedly making issues. In that same video he also mentions how the travel that he does is extraordinarily relevant part of his life and his skilled practice.
Kawara and König shared a close friendship, strengthened throughout their time as neighbors in New York within the Sixties and ’70s. His curatorial expertise was globally recognized, leading to roles in curating the Austrian pavilion on the Venice Biennale in 2003 and overseeing Manifesta 10 in Saint Petersburg in 2014. The curator was the daddy of Johann König, who runs KÖNIG GALERIE, and the New York artwork dealer Leo Koenig. Known for supporting emerging artists and their careers, the elder König was pushed by personal connections to the art and artists he collected.
I really have never traveled first-class but I am going to assume most lounges do not seem like this. This lounge is eccentric and modern with quite so much of textures and geometry. There isn’t a lot I even have to say about this piece besides the reality that I LOVEEE the shape of the bottle.

What I was most interested about in my research was Newson’s design process and the way he prolonged this process all through all of his many disciplines. Newson said it was just as satisfying designing an everyday product as a luxurious item. Marc Newson’s 1986 Lockheed Lounge, in riveted aluminium, became the world’s most costly design object when one sold at auction for $5.three million.
